We don't want to disrupt your action plan consisting of getting enough sleep and relax, but rest assured that relaxation can also be very active.

As far as security is concerned, we have already said that you do not need to take any special precautions here. You can always spend quality time with your partner, friends or family.

And we know that Egypt is not the hotel complex. Egypt comes to you just behind the hotel gate and the tourist center.

Our advice:

In general, Egypt has three major values: history, desert and sea. It offers you stable warm weather (exceptionally windy days with sandstorms) all year round and it's up to you to enjoy it to the maximum.

Worth to mention that you can also fall in love with Egyptian cuisine and friendly people…

As Egyptian history is rich and interesting, take the opportunity to see some sights. Whether you dream of visiting Pyramids or the Valley of the Kings. You will find hundreds of offers to get there. Good guides and providers will give you useful tips (not only) how to survive long hours under the hot sun.

Clothing

As also recommended in our travel offer, you should not underestimate the climate which you have reached here. Be ready with the clothes that protect your body from the sunburns (although we know it's not always 100%).

The material of your clothes should be light and airy. You might not understand at first why Egyptians use to wear long sleeves even in summer. It's about everyday life in the heat.

For long outdoor activities, we recommend you (kids and adults) to cover your head. It is a must on the sightseeing tours. You will always appreciate a headscarf in the desert – against the sand and against the wind.

Drinking regime (and food structure)

It's not just a phrase to keep yourself hydrated. The body needs more fluids than normal and you should take care of getting them. Of course, getting the right ones is important. The hot weather calls for something cold and refreshing to drink. The glass of cold cola, beer, juice...

You will be surprised again that the Egyptians refresh themselves with the hot drink even in hot weather. How can you accept something hot when you feel like your body is about to explode?

It's really very simple. The hot drink does not cause a temperature shock. In turn, it prepares the body to receive something colder afterwards.

Note that temperature shock is most often the cause of stomach problems. If you additionally include all the dishes from the buffet tables....

It is clear that the best refreshment is the water or drink enriched with (for example) lemon.

If you get a chance to try the local food, it's definitely worth it. Very simple but also very tasty! You can always try a local restaurant or cook something from famous dishes (inspired by our article about Egyptian food).

Hotel name

This might sounds a bit crazy, but sometimes problems can arise when you go on tour and don't remember the exact name of your hotel. Yes, that really happens. There are many hotel chains in the city, hotel names are changing and not all (taxi) drivers are updated!

It is not enough to say "Sunrise", "Albatros" or Hilton Hotel. There are hotels in different areas. If you're not sure what the exact name is, you can end up at the location, which the driver mostly knows. Not once the guest of the Hilton Resort ended up in the Hilton Long Beach or Hilton Plaza (completely different direction, but you don't know that at first). Sunrise Holidays has a completely different location than Sunrise Garden Beach...

You can rent the car and drive yourself with the international driving license. Even you will see from the start that driving here has different rules than in Europe….

Photographs

Usually you want to keep your travel experience alive in the photos. In Egypt it's very easy to connect to social networks, so it's time to share...

You get beautiful shots from the desert and the safari. You will be amazed by the natural beauty of the Red Sea (Orange Bay, Mahmya, Paradise). You can get stunning shots from ordinary Egyptian life.

Keep in mind, you should always respect where photography is prohibited or restricted. By law, you should not make any footage from police or army objects.

In connection with people, you will find that the Egyptians love to take photos. But ethically, don't take pictures of (Egyptian) women without their permission.

Passport (Travel documents)

We often get the question from the tourists whether it is necessary to carry the passport/ID with you at all times when going to the tour.

Usually no. If we talk about the short day trips. Even if you travel to Cairo and Luxor on the tourist bus, you will not be asked for the documents as a foreigner. You are usually registered with your tour operator with your name and hotel, as the excursions require a permit from the Ministry of Tourism and the Tourist Police.

Take the passports or ID with you on air tours , hotel overnight tours and when traveling through the Sinai Peninsula.

Otherwise – on safari, sea trips and city tours you can keep the documents in the hotel safe. It's always useful to take the copy of the last/data page with you. However, what we do recommend is that you always carry your travel insurance card with you.
