Luxor and Abu Simbel - 2 Days from Hurghada

2 days tour in Upper Egypt. This is also a description of the most famous and

most important treasures of Egyptian history.

The journey begins in Hurghada. You will travel to Luxor, where you will

explore the East Bank of the Nile. You will wonder over the Colossi of Memnon, Valley of the Kings, the Queen Hatshepsut Temple and the Karnak Temple

(see description under Luxor-Overday by bus ).

Karnak

First you will see the Karnak Temple - one of the most extraordinary temples in the world,

because after thousands of years it is still in an astonishingly good condition.

With a little imagination, you will find yourself impressed from sacred past of the monument again.

You will have plenty of time to explore the entrance area, where you will find famous ram-headed Sphinx avenue.

Go for a walk to the Hypostyle Hall with 134 amazing giant columns.

Admire the hieroglyphs and paintings, see the sacred lake and throw

a look at the different chapels, temples and statues. And when you want to approach the Holy Scarab near the lake 

and surround it three times clockwise - according to legend, the offsprings will (maybe) follow soon!

Valley of the Kings

After the lunch break we will show you the Valley of the Kings, where the ancient Egyptians were burying their kings with their sons. 

You can visit minimum 3 graves, where you will find the well-preserved colorful paintings and hieroglyphs on the walls! Its stunning!

Memnon

Subsequently we will take you to admire the 3400 year old Colossi of Memnon. The gigantic statues of Pharaoh Amenophis III, 

which were once before his no more existing temple complex, that was even larger than the temple of Karnak.

Hatshepsut

Now we are ready for another highlight - the temple of Queen Hatshepsut. The one of the most fascinating rulers of ancient Egypt was the female pharaoh, who demonstrated her ability to successfully rule an empire even architecturally, with her unusual mortuary temple with colonnades, portico and many statues, paintings and reliefs. 

At the end you have the possibility to visit the perfume and papyrus factory and acquire unique gifts for your loved ones.

After the program you will continue to Asuan. Check-in in the hotel. 

Take a good break, because the trip to Abu Simbel then starts early in the morning.

The morning will belong to the imposing 2 temples of Ramses II and his wife Nefertari. The view that is one of the most famous in the country!

The Abu Simbel temple witnessed the battles of Ramses II and his victories. The walls of the temple also speak about his family and offer for Deities with his wife.

After the visit, return to Asuan for lunch and in the afternoon back to Luxor. The last part of the 2-day trip leads back to Hurghada.
